ASTM A333 - Seamless Steel Pipe

• Detailed introduction:

• Application: Seamless steel pipe designed for low temperature environment.

• Steel type: Low alloy steel or carbon steel.

• Standard content: ASTM A333 standard is mainly applicable to steel pipes used under low temperature conditions, usually used in the transportation of low temperature media such as liquefied natural gas (LNG) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). Its steel pipe has good low temperature toughness.

• Main application:

• Low temperature liquid transportation (such as LNG, LPG).

• Liquid gas, natural gas pipeline.

• Especially suitable for equipment and pipelines in cold areas.

• ASTM A333 seamless steel pipes have a wide range of sizes, as follows:

• Outer Diameter: from 1/2 inch (about 21.3 mm) to 36 inches (about 914 mm)

• Wall Thickness: from Schedule 10 to Schedule 160, or customized thickening according to customer needs (such as XXS)

• Length: usually 5.8 meters, 6 meters, 11.8 meters, 12 meters, supporting fixed or unfixed length supply

• Steel pipes can be manufactured according to ANSI B36.10 size standards, and can also be customized with heavy wall thickness or special sizes.

• Yield Strength: Minimum 240 MPa (35,000 psi)

• Tensile Strength: Minimum 415 MPa (60,000 psi)

• Elongation: Not less than 30% (depending on the pipe diameter and specimen size)

• Impact toughness: Charpy V-notch must be performed at -45°C to ensure that it does not break at low temperatures

• Carbon (C): Maximum 0.30%

• Manganese (Mn): 0.29% to 1.06%

• Phosphorus (P): Maximum 0.025%

• Sulfur (S): Maximum 0.025%

• Silicon (Si): Minimum 0.10% (optional, recommended)
